Xiotech’s Intelligent Storage Element technology is an integrated storage architecture that is the result of five years of development, and is designed to maximize reliability and performance. In addition to the redundant components built into the architecture, ISE includes preventative technologies like vibration reduction, improved cooling, and heal-in-place technology, that minimize failures. Other features are designed to avoid the need to replace components, like the cluster infrastructure with spare-in-place technology, and self-healing processes that rebuilds data if components fail.
The clean and simple design of the ISE also helps optimizes performance, in addition to maximizing reliability. Since all processors and cache are local, capacity can be added without over-burdening the processors. The integrated, high-performance, grid-based RAID protects data without adversely affecting performance, and the active-active configuration of controllers ensures all available processing power is utilized.
