The Sun SPARC Enterprise T5140 servers are dual-socket servers that feature the UltraSPARC T2 processors. With up to 8 cores and up to 64 simultaneous threads per processor, the Sun T5140 systems can pack 128 threads into a power-efficient 1U form factor. The UltraSPARC T2 processors featured in the Sun T5140 features a floating-point unit for each core, 4MB of integrated L2 cache per processor, on-chip cryptographic acceleration, and on-board 10 Gigabit Ethernet, are available in 8-, 6- and quad-core varieties.

Memory can scale from 8GB to 128GB in a single Sun SPARC Enterprise T5140 server, with 16 DIMMS slots, and support for low-voltage 8GB DIMMS. Reliability and system availability is enhanced with redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fans, in addition to error correction and parity checking.

Sun T5140 M2 RAID & Storage

The Sun SPARC T5140 server is compatible for up to eight internal, hot-swappable 73GB, 1646GB or 300GB 2.5" SAS drives, or four 32GB 2.5" SATA SSDs (Solid State Disk). Internal drive mirroring (RAID 1) is supported, as well as compatibility with RAID 0 and RAID 1 data protection.
