SGI’s Altix XE server solutions deliver maximum performance in a cost-effective, industry-standard package.

Flexible Packaging

With the Altix XE solution, you can choose in between two packages:

• the Altix XE240, an I/O-rich 2U package, or
• the Altix XE210, an ultra-dense 1U package
• the Altix XE310, up to two nodes, which means four Dual- or Quad-core Xeon processors

Either server can support:

• dual- or quad-core Intel® Xeon® CPUs
• 32 GB memory

With the Altix XE servers, you can choose any combination of the above packages, and adjust & customize configurations to meet the most complex of computing workflows and demands. The XE240 supports up to five PCI-X or PCI-Express slots for I/O & storage expansion, while the XE210 supports 1 PCI-X and 1 PCI-Express slots.

Ease of deployment & use

The Altix XE servers are ideal for clustered environments. Work with North American Systems to design a custom configured solution. Although the Altix XE servers are cost-effective, they do not compromise performance. In addition to being able to fit four computing cores in a 1U package Altix XE servers provide:

• Dual- or Quad-core Xeon® processors w/4MB L2 cache in the Dual-core, and 8MB in the Quad-core
• 133MHz front-side bus
• fully-buffered, high performance 667MHz memory DIMMs
• hot-swappable, redundant power supplies and disk drives
• the option to maximize I/O with 5 x PCI-X or PCI-Express slots
