We will also review with you how a primary site failure could impact your business. In addition, we will assist you in confirming which functions, systems, and processes are essential to your business’s survival.
Our knowledge of “best-of-breed” software and best practices, can help you develop, review and confirm disaster recovery plans that are in place.
DR plans must choose what RPO (recovery point objective) and
RTO (recovery time objective) are important for their mission-critical
applications. Taking into account these priorities, we can help you develop
a comprehensive guide of how to restore operation of critical information
services and maintain the availability of data.
In addition to keeping your DR solution affordable, we can continue to help you refine and improve your DR plan and operations, while minimizing ongoing support & maintenance costs.
Over IP, initial synchronization can take days for a multi-terabyte database. To speed this process, you can mirror-and-ship a replica disk, or utilize your tape backup, and physically move data to create your DR site. When you load the data to the DR disk, it will do an initial scan-and-copy to make up for data that was changed since you made and moved the replica.
In addition to the chaos caused by a primary site failure, there is often confusion among the administrators, as to which replica should be assign to which standby host during an emergency. Our software allows you to pre-assign replica disks to the appropriate hardware.
Reviving the primary site after failure is easy via IPStor’s reverse synchronization, allowing you to scan for differences the other way, reducing sync time to re-establish the primary site.
