Where Innovation
Meets Solutions
Utilizing new SATA (Serial ATA) technology, Quantum delivers the low-cost DX
series of RAID disc arrays that can restore file 5 to 10 times faster than a
conventional tape library. Designed to emulate a tape library with its ease
of use, it provides investment protection by requiring not changes to your existing
backup software, processes, or architecture. The power supplies and fans are
fully redundant and hot-swappable, and the SATA drives are hot spare and hot-swappable
as well. Providing RAID 5 disk protection, the robust management software eliminates
the need for disk tuning and defragmentation, and provides you with a browser-based
GUI for management, status, and configuration options. You can also opt for
event monitoring via SNMP or email.
The DX100 supports up to eight 2 GB Fibre Channel with an LC connector host
interfaces, and two 10/100/1000 BaseT ethernet connections, one for remote management,
one for the internal control network. The DX30 can support up to two 2GB Fibre
Channel host interfaces and one 10/100/1000 BaseT ethernet interface for remote
management. With an aggregate throughput of up to 1 TB/hour with the DX30, and
2 TB/hour with the DX100, the DX backup system have blazing performance for
companies that have short backup windows and the most demanding company SLAs
(service-level agreements).
