The QLogic 8200 Series is a high performance, Ethernet-to-PCIe CNA that can support simultaneous networking LAN & storage SAN traffic at line-rate, 10Gbps speeds. Designed to offload protocol processing for FCoE, iSCSI, & TCP/IP traffic to reduce the CPU utilization devoted to I/O operations.
Designed to reduce the need to additional adapters, cables & switches, the 8200 Series of Converged Network Adapters can help ease LAN & SAN management requirements, as well as reduced cooling & power requirements.
The QLogic 8200 CNAs feature the same battle-tested QLogic Fibre Channel and iSCSI drivers well-known throughout the industry. Manage networking, FCoE & iSCSI functionality with QLogic’s QConvergeConsole, which provides single pane-of-glass maangement for QLogic’s line of storage & networking adapters.
Connecting to servers with a PCIe Gen2 x8 bus ensures that there are no internal performance bottlenecks with the use of the QLogic 8200 Series Converged Network Adapters. SR-IOV is also supported to enable faster networking performance in virtualized environments.
Advanced TCP/IP & Ethernet enhancements are also supported with in the QLogic 8200 Series. These include 802.1Qbb (Priority-Based Flow Control), jumbo frames, checksum offloads, segmentation offloads, VLAN & teaming.
QLogic’s new VMflex technology allows a single QLogic 8200 Series CNA to be seen by an operating systems as a flexible mix of standalone NICs. Guaranteed bandwidth can be granted to each virtual adapter. This feature can be setup to be switch independent or switch agnostic, to enable partitioning and meet each IT department’s requirements.
