Although many storage vendors like StorageTek, EMC and NetApps provide systems and platforms with myriad interoperability issues that complicate simple storage solutions, Pillar Data offers a cost-effective solution that allows you to truly consolidate your storage into one storage platform managed by one management interface.

The Axiom Storage System allows you to split your storage into multiple tiers, each with its own storage application, performance, and reliability requirements. The tiering of storage with the Axiom Storage System uses unique algorithms to intelligently place data on disk, based on disk I/O access methods. Tier 1 data, which would provide the highest levels of performance and availability levels for your mission-critical data and applications, would be located on the outside of the disk. Tier 2 data, which would be for mid-priority applications, are located in the middle of the disk, while various business utility application data, which only needs adequate performance and availability (Tier 3), are located on the inside of the disk.

Each Axiom Storage System includes one Axiom Pilot policy controller, up to 4 Axiom Slammer storage controllers, and up to 64 Axiom Brick storage enclosures.

Pillar’s Axiom QoS Storage Management software allows storage managers to allocate storage resources, specify Quality of Service settings, and define storage automation parameters through easy-to-manage policies.
