Meets Solutions
Consolidate multiple UNIX® & Linux® applications while improving performance If you are trying to manage a variety of proprietary UNIX environments, you know that the cost of maintaining, supporting and upgrading these systems can put great demands on your IT staff and budget.
If you are also running Linux, especially multiple Linux workloads from multiple Linux distributions, the problem is multiplied.
By unifying your UNIX and Linux workloads on a single systems, you can maximize server utilization by getting the right combination of capacity and scalability, minimizing TCO while improving performance. The System p platform supports SUSE Linux and RedHat Linux distributions, as well as AIX 5L, IBM’s forward-looking UNIX distribution that embraces open standards.
By freeing up budget funds, you can also pursue other efforts such as high availability/disaster recovery, something that would have been too expensive with numerous disparate UNIX/Linux systems.
North American Systems has extensive experience migrating server platform to iSeries servers. We have built a best practices philosophy and methodology that keeps you migration project on time and within your budget constraints.
We start by examining and taking inventory of your current IT infrastructure, taking note of servers, storage, networking hardware, and software. We then work with you to configure a system that conforms to your prerequisites, and is compatible with your information infrastructure. We integrate our capacity planning services in the migration process to assist you in making your system responsive to future resources requirements. In addition we can assist with ROI analysis, helping you make a solid business case for migration.
We work with IBM to move your data and applications onto your new system, performing several test migrations before going live, so possible risks and issues can be addressed beforehand. We benchmark and test your new infrastructure to ensure it meets your requirements.
At this stage we setup & configure your logical partitions, and make sure the recommended LPAR implementation is performing as expected.
After testing and staging, we perform load balancing and performance tuning to ensure optimal performance of your new system.
From planning, testing & staging to fine-tuning, our approach is to develop a system that can be installed and implemented with minimal disruption & risk. Hardware management consoles are configured and systems administrators are brought up to speed.
North American Systems is customer-orientated and stays in constant contact with its customer base. We work with you to develop plans to respond to change quickly in a cost-effective manner.
