Nexsan ATABoy and Nexsan ATABoy2

The ATAboy disk-based RAID is great for departmental or enterprise environments. It supports up to 2 2 Gbps Fibre Channel or four Ultra 160 SCSI controllers. Available in a 3U rack-mount or standalone configuration, you can fit up to 14 drives, for up to 4.2 TBin a single ATAboy2 array. The ATAboy2 boasts a burst transfer rate of up to 170 Mbps and a sustained throughput rate of up to 100 Mbps.

All hardware components are redundant, including the RAID controllers, drives and power supplies. The drives and power supplies can be hot-swapped by the user, increasing availability. The ATAboy 2 has a standard Ethernet port, generates email to send to the administrators when hardware fails or changes, errors occurs, or other environmental thresholds are reached. These RAIDs can be monitored and configured with a standard browser-based interface, but is secure in that it doesn't give you direct data access through the GUI.

Other features:

• comes pre-configured at RAID 5, but supports RAID 0 and 4, and multiple RAID sets

• system settings are stored in non-volatile flash memory in case of power loss
• write-back data cache memory bus with 800 Mbytes/sec bandwidth
