The IBM TurboCore technology enabled in the IBM Power 7 servers optimizes processors for core frequency and cache utilization, delivering maximum capacity and performance for database and transaction workloads.Intelligent cache can flow from core to core, depending on where's its needed to further optimize workloads.
The Intelligent Thread technology included with the IBM Power 7 servers allows workloads to be optimized automatically by switching between one, two or four execution threads per processor core to optimize application throughput. With this feature, you can deliver the highest per-thread performance or maximum system throughput, based on the requirements of the application that resides on the server.
The IBM Active Memory Expansion capability enables those who have IBM Power 7 servers to double their memory capacity so it is much larger than the actual physical memory, without having to install additional memory devices. Optimized for SAP workloads, Active Memory Expansion helps optimizes workloads to improve application performance and maximize the server ROI.
By utilizing the IBM Systems Director Active Energy Manager with Energy Scale technology, you can enable Intelligent Energy management features, and dramatically improve energy efficiency and conserve power. The Power 7 processor included in the IBM Power 7 servers can be operated at a high frequency if environment conditions permit, for increased performance, or be set to operate at a reduced frequency, to experience significant energy savings.
