The HP StorageWorks MSA 2000i provides a cost-effective iSCSI SAN solution for infrastructures that require low-cost consolidation of disk storage with the flexibility to use SATA & SAS drives to blend performance with capacity.

The HP MSA 2000i 2U base unit includes 12 drive bays, and it is expandable to up to 3 expansion units and 48 drives. With dual-ported, high-performance SAS drives, the HP MSA2000i can support up to 21.6TB of storage, and with high-capacity, archival-class SATA drives, it can expand up to 48TB of storage. You can mix-and-match SAS and SATA drives in the same enclosure too.

Dual, hot-pluggable replacement of controllers, enclosures, fans, power supplies and I/O modules can be performed for online expansion and replacement without disruption. Availability is further increased with active/active controllers, dual-ported drives and automated failover.

The MSA2000i is able to support up to 16 iSCSI-attached hosts, since each controller includes dual 1GbE ports, and its supports one or two controllers per enclosures. In addition the HP MSA 2000i supports RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50 RAID levels, and snapshot/clone, storage mirroring, and SAN backup.
