The EVA 4400 HP disk arrays support integrated application block storage as well as file storage, and supports Fibre Channel, iSCSI and direct connected hosts, up to 512 single path connections, and up to 256 dual-path connections. In addition, these models include 20 external 8Gbps SAN ports with the embedded SAN switches, which also includes software options for adaptive networking, ISL trunking, advanced performance monitoring, fabric watch and extended fabric.
HP EVA 4400 systems support the following hard drives: 300GB 10K, 146GB 15K, 300GB 15K & 450GB 15K high performance fibre channel, and 1TB fibre attached technology adapted (FATA) disks. The HP Enterprise Virtual Array 6100 models supports Vraid0, Vraid1, Vraid 0+1, Vraid5, Vraid 0+5 & Cross Vraid Snaps.
With the HP EVA iSCSI connectivity option, businesses can also extend their Fibre SAN into smaller departments and remote locations without expanding their Fibre Channel architecture investments, allowing servers to be connected to the SAN via standard Ethernet ports.
With the EVA 4400 disk storage RAID arrays, you can leverage HP’s Storage Essentials SRM software to manage your EVA and SAN infrastructure seamlessly. In addition, this HP EVA software provides an application-level view of storage for Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, and others, to provide RAID protection and allow issues to be pinpointed and addressed quickly.
The HP StorageWorks EVA 4400s also support Business Copy for snapshot, as well as SnapClone, MirrorClone, and Cross Vraid snapshots and snapclones for superior data protection for businesses. Also, HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA protection enhances data protection beyond the data center by supporting realtime remote replication, providing disaster-tolerant business continuity.
