IBM’s High Availability Cluster Multiprocessing (HACMP) software delivers business application protection for your AIX and Linux workloads. Improve reliability by reducing unplanned outages with reliable monitoring, failure detection and automated recovery of application environment to backup resources.
As systems outages become more expensive as businesses rely on IT system for day-to-day operations, HACMP is the perfect solution to virtually eliminate unplanned outages. Whether failures occur as a result of human error, software bugs, or environmental conditions, HACMP can automatically transfer users, applications, and data to backup systems. In addition, you can utilize these backup systems during scheduled maintenance, increasing systems flexibility.
HACMP utilizes IBM’s virtualization technology to dynamically increase system resources to either accommodate takeover workloads, or accommodate the primary application in the event of a failover.
Configure and manage HACMP with its intuitive web-based GUI. HACMP offers configuration wizards to help set up reactions to hundreds of system events, from process failures to system failures. This robust interface allows you to configure clusters to meet complex and varied application availability and recovery needs.
HACMP also offers application auto-discovery to simplify to setup of HACMP and of new applications as they come online.
Version 5.4 of HACMP now offers support for Linux on POWER systems. By extending the robust capabilities of HACMP to Linux operating environments, users can utilize HACMP to manage their entire System p5/pSeries architecture. You can include up to eight nodes running Linux in your HACMP cluster.
HACMP can include optional Smart Assists packages that simplify the configuration and implementation of DB2, Oracle, and WebSphere workloads into your cluster environment. In addition, HACMP support the Veritas File System for easy integration into VFS environments.
