Mid-tier Servers - utilize the API toolkit to manage connections to the Library Server and Resource Managers for load balancing and connection pooling.
Resource Managers - also known as object servers, these specialized repositories manage the storage, archival, retrieval and delivery of your enterprise content.
Ideal for small- and medium-sized businesses, DB2 Content Manager Standard Edition shares many features with Enterprise Edition for a single, consistent framework for the management of all types of digitized content.
Library Server - the library server aggregates all library server tables into a single library, and manage the indexing, describing, locating and organizing of content.
Resource Manager - the resource manager is a specialized repository that stores documents, images, and other rich media content in BLOB types in your database
Administrative Client - this unified interface for managing the Content Management system allows you to model data, authorize users, manage object retrieval and routing, and audit data. Utilize the Java and C++ API to integrate administration functionality into application development.
Windows® Client - the Windows client is ideal for high-volume, high-performance applications, and is compatible with XML/HTML and ODMA. You can also take advantage of the development toolkit with technologies such as Java™ Beans, C++ to further extend the client.
eClient - this browser-based client communicates directly with the mid-tier server in Enterprise Edition, and the resource manager in Standard Edition, for easy search and retrieval of a wide option of formatted content in your DB2 Content repository.
DB2 Content Manager includes embedded workflow features that simplify the implementation of repeatable business processes for the creation of workflow document-enabled applications.
This optional component delivers continuous streaming video across the enterprise through the Internet, or intranet-connected clients. The architecture of this utility deliver video streams by “pushing” the content over the network until stopped, as opposed to many file servers today that deliver video content by issuing multiple “pull” requests to the server.
