The Cisco Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) Catalyst 2912 LRE XL switch delivers dedicated bandwidth per port at rates up to 15-Mbps symmetric Ethernet performance, complete with industry-leading management, quality of service, scalability, and security features. The Cisco LRE Catalyst 2912 features 12 Long-Reach Ethernet ports and four 10/100 Ethernet ports, is 1 rack unit (RU) high, 13-inches deep, and can be either mounted on a wall or placed on a rack. They also feature integrated LRE technology, which means that they do not require an external modem pool.

Evolving the Catalyst 2900 LRE Series, Catalyst 2950 LRE switches include the Catalyst 2950 Enhanced Image enabling the same Quality of Service (QoS), High Availability and Security found in existing Catalyst 2950 Series Switches. The new Catalyst 2950 LRE switches also feature Gigabit Ethernet connectivity via either fixed 10/100/1000 ports or SFP ports.
