4Gbps, chassis-based Fibre Channel connectivity for core switching capabilities

The QLogic SANbox 9000 utilizes a chassis architecture and a variety of blade modules to deliver a solution that can scale and adapt to changing business requirement rapidly, in a cost-effective package. The SANbox 9000 switches allow you to start with a configuration as small as 16 4Gbps ports. These auto-sensing ports are completely backwards-compatible with 1Gbps and 2Gbps connections, allowing you to leverage your existing Fibre Channel infrastructure, and can be upgrading in 16-port increments.

A single QLogic 9000 chassis can scale up to 128 ports in a compact 4U form factor, and you can add an additional chassis to scale your SANbox 9000 to 256 ports in a combined 8U configuration. A dual-chassis configuration features QLogic HyperStack connectivity. Along with enterprise-class scalability, you also get enterprise-class availability for mission-critical 24x7 applications. The QLogic 9000 has redundant, how-swappable, and field-replaceable units for many key components, such as power supplies, CPUs, fans, and I/O blades. Ports can be added, and firmware can be upgraded without touching the unit, or disrupting operations.

SANbox 9000 Management

The multi-function, multi-protocol intelligence features of the SANbox 9000 don’t make the switches hard to manage. With a friendly point-and-click interface, non-SAN experts can install and manage these. Enterprise Fabric Suite 2007™ simplifies the setup, configuration, zoning, fabric management & monitoring, performance management and extended distance configuration of your QLogic 9000 switches. QuickTools™ is java-based web applet that enables device discovery, drag-and-drop zoning, and fabric management to speed deployment. Fabric Security utilizes RADIUS authentication and advanced user, connection and device security functionality via SSH & SSL. SANdoctor™ helps troubleshoot fabric problems with diagnostics monitoring and trace routing display.
