Utilize IBM’s POWER5+ processors for your HPC (high-performance computing) applications with the System p5 575 cluster node. These ultra-dense servers can deliver up to 200 processors in a single 24" frame, and systems can be clustered in configurations as small as 16 CPUs, and scale up to supercomputer configurations of more than 2,000 processors.

Utilize the unique architecture of the p575 cluster nodes for applications like engineering, pharmaceutical R&D, oil speculation drilling, weather forecasting, financial simulation or business intelligence. The System p575 includes advanced cooling mechanisms, and features a shared interleaved memory to sustain maximum memory bandwidth for your HPC applications.

64-bit POWER5+ processing power

POWER5+ chips are two-way simultaneous multithreaded dual-core chips, designed to maximize the utilization of your computing power. With simultaneous multithreading, you can run two concurrent application threads.

8-Core p575 Model

The 8-core p5 575 cluster nodes have POWER5+ processors with only one core activated. This deliver twice the memory cache, 36MB, optimizing the node for memory bandwidth-intensive applications that require continuous access to large amounts of data. This makes the 8-core cluster node ideal for insurance, banking, finance and retail applications that are memory-intensive & heavy on database access. They are also great for other HPC applications like:

16-Core p575 Model

The 16-core p5 575 cluster nodes delivers 60% more floating-point performance versus the 8-core model. This makes the 16-core models ideal for compute-intensive applications, like CAE (Computer Assisted Engineering) and other engineering & scientific work that requires floating-point performance.
