The IBM TS3200 replaces IBM’s 3582 tape library, offering even more features and capacity for midrange environments.
The TS3200 is available with 1 or 2 Ultrium3 or LTO-4 tape drives, supporting LVD SCSI or 4Gbps Fibre Channel attachment. These Ultrium3 tape drives support up to 80Mbps native data transfer rates, and are backwards-compatible with legacy Ultrium2 and Ultrium1 data cartridges. In addition, the TS3200 is compatible with WORM-capable Ultrium3 & LTO-4 data cartridges, for long-term data retention and regulatory compliance needs.
The Ultrium3 data cartridges have a 400GB native data capacity, and support 2:1 data compression to hold up to 800GB. The IBM TS3200 is available in a standalone or 4U rack-mount configuration.
The TS3200 tape library features the ability to hold up to 4 removable magazines of 11 data cartridges, providing this LTO tape library with up to 17.6TB total native data capacity. The magazine configuration of data cartridges provides for the quick loading and unloading of tape libraries.
A bar-code reader comes standard with the IBM TS3200, offering users with sequential or random access for a wide variety of backup, save & restore, and archival solutions. In addition, the IBM TS3200 has a dedicated mail slot to provide continuous library operations while you are importing or exporting data.
A remote Web-management interface is also standard with the TS3200 LTO Ultrium library. In addition to a standard cleaning cartridge slot, the IBM TS3200 comes with a 3-slot I/O station. Addition options for the TS3200 LTO Ultrium library include Path Failover and a redundant power supply.
The IBM TS3200 also features a built-in, fully-featured LCD unit that provides information about the system’s power, drive & activity, error status and message information.
