The IBM TS3100 replaces IBM’s 3581 tape autoloader, offering businesses more capacity and features at the same entry-level price.
The TS3100 tape library supports 1 Ultrium3 or LTO-4 tape drive, which features up to 80Mbps native data transfer rates and up to 400GB capacity per data cartridge, perfect for large-capacity or high-performance tape backup solutions. This LTO library supports LVD SCSI and 4Gbps attachment for a wide variety of open systems.
A bar-code reader comes standard with the IBM TS3100, offering users with sequential or random access for a wide variety of backup, save & restore, and archival solutions. In addition, the IBM TS3100 has a dedicated mail slot to provide continuous library operations while you are importing or exporting data.
A remote Web-management interface is also standard with the TS3100 LTO Ultrium library. The TS3100 offers over double the amount of data cartridge capacity that the IBM 3581 did (22 v.s. 8 in the 3581), and still provides you with the choice between a standalone or 2U rack-mount configuration.
The IBM TS3100 also features a built-in, fully-featured LCD unit that provides information about the system’s power, drive & activity, error status and message information.
