Meets Solutions
Scalable, high-performance Fibre disk storageWith 4 drive ports that support switched FC, and FC-AL, the DS4700 Express is a solution that scales quickly to meet demand, and supports the most bandwidth-intensive applications with a 4Gbps Fibre Channel interface.
The IBM DS4700 Express features 1550Mbps throughput for enhanced performance, and a total of 8 host channels for enhanced connectivity, so you can share this high-performance disk systems across multiple applications and platforms in your heterogeneous environment.
Maintain enhanced availability and resiliency with dual active 4Gbps RAID controllers that support RAID0, RAID1, RAID3, RAID5 and RAID10 that provide fault-tolerance. In addition, the DS4700 Express disk systems feature redundant power and cooling components, hot-swap drives, concurrent microcode updates and a dual-pathing driver. In addition, the Capacity on Demand features of the DS4700 Express, such as Dynamic Capacity Addition and Dynamic Volume Expansion, are designed to allow you to grow your solution without disruption.
The DS4700 Express can be partitioned into as many as 64 virtual servers, to allow you to allocate storage capacity and maximize storage utilization, allowing various applications to share hardware components, such as RAID controllers, while centralizing management.
