Where Innovation
Meets Solutions
Take advantage of Intel’s dual-core Xeon CPUs with the IBM HS21 blade server. Take advantage of the shared 4MB L2 cache and support for single- and multi-threaded applications. The HS21 also includes high-performance features such as Intel Extended Memory 64 and high-speed fabrics with the BladeCenter H, even thought the HS21 is compatible with the entire BladeCenter chassis family.
The HS21 comes with 1GB memory standard, but you can expand up to 32GB per server. This cutting-edge technology features the same modular architecture designed for maximum compute density, but they also take advantage of new technology to reduce cooling and power costs without sacrificing performance.
Take advantage of technologies like 2Gb & 4Gb Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, Myrinet, or 1X & 4X Infiniband with the HS21 blade servers expansion PCI slots.
| IBM HS21 Blade Server Specifications | |
|---|---|
| Processors | Up to 2 x Dual-core Intel Xeon Processor up to 3.0GHz |
| Max cache | 4MB L2 shared cache |
| Front side bus | 1333 MHz |
| Memory | 32GB Fully Buffered DIMM |
| Hard drives | Up to 2 small form factor SAS (serial attached SCSI) drives |
| RAID | Integrated RAID-0 or -1 standard on blade server, integrated RAID-1E or RAID-5 optional with SIO Blade |
| Networking | Dual Gigabit Ethernet, up to 8 ports |
The HS21 blade servers are also packed with high availability features. With features like an integrated system management processor, Predictive Failure Analysis®, and light path diagnostics, you are ensured of maximum uptime of your blade server computing loads. In addition, you can add or change HS21 blade servers without disrupting the operation of other blade servers in the same IBM BladeCenter chassis. With the HS21 blade servers you can get high density compute power without sacrificing performance.
