The HDS Thunder 9200 Series legacy modular storage are highly-scalable disk systems that provide enterprise-class reliability. North American Systems offers the full line of Hitachi Data Systems Thunder 9200 Series disk systems at great prices, allowing businesses to extend the life of their existing equipment. These legacy disk systems still support high reliability features such as hot-swappable components, allowing for upgrades without disruption, and long-term battery backup to protect mission-critical data. These systems also allow for up to 5 global hot spares to further maximize reliability.

The Thunder series comes in three models; a rackmount, and two deskside units. The Thunder Deskside 10 can support anywhere from two to ten drives, while the Deskside 20 can support two to twenty drives. The rackmount unit can store up to one hundred drives, and using the 181GB drives, you can store up to 17.6TB of data in a RAID-0 configuration.

Drives offered with the Thunder 9200 series includes the high performance 36GB and 73GB 10,000 RPM drives, the optimum performance 18GB 15,000 RPM drives, and the maximum capacity.
